'I think I'll start a blog.'
I had just finished handing in papers at the registrar's office, and I needed a place to sit and thaw before venturing out again. So I decided to start a blog.
For nearly 24h I traveled from 20 degrees C to -20 C...a skin slapping, nose freezing, twisted version of a warm welcome to Wisconsin. Now I'm sitting at a desk in my dorm room, 208 Northside, typing and re-typing as my fingers slowly regain their function.
Campus is empty and white with snow. Stepping outside is a health hazard that comes in many forms, such as freezing temps and ice patches on the walkways. Thankfully, I have yet to test them out. Now I'm off to Health Services, hopefully my last stop before being able to register for classes. Then I'm hoping to spend some time in the gym with my best friend the basketball.
Hopefully I won't be too lazy to keep posting.
Signing off.
(mom again)I guess you've either acclimated in these 2 and half weeks since you wrote this, or it has warmed up if you're out in the snow in short sleeves these days!!!;) We're so proud of you having gone through all these major steps and the constant paperwork and things to figure out and work through on your own. Wish so much one of us could have gone with you as others do and help out! You've done a great job in these days and have done great keeping up the blog too!! love you!MOM
